Ashley HomeStore is currently seeking a Transportation Manager for our Edmonton Distribution Centre located at 11343 - 189th Street NW.
As a Transportation Manager you will be responsible for managing the transportation and delivery of products in a cost effective and timely manner, consistent with customer expectations and corporate standards.

As the Transportation Manager, you will:
Work with our Service Center to ensure delivery planning activities are consistent with available equipment and manpower resources.
Develop and maintain relationships with all stores being serviced by the Distribution Centre
The effective delivery of goods to customer residence
Maintain performance expectations through coaching, counselling and behaviour modification programs.
Maintain Delivery vehicles and transportation equipment consistent with safety standards and lease requirements.
Have input into the Development of departmental budgets and implement cost controls as required.
Maintains effective staff levels through recruitment and selection of employees
Train, develop, and provide functional direction to supervisors and/or team leads
Understand and follow all safe work practices and rules
As a successful candidate you will have the following:
High school diploma, post-secondary education preferred, with minimum five years shipping and transportation experience
2-3 years of supervisory experience in transportation or equivalent environment.
Familiar with contractor management an asset
Demonstrated working knowledge of MS Office products and ability to learn in-house computer programs
Criminal Record Check required
Flexible schedule requirements including evening and or weekend work may be required
