The primary responsibility of the Logistics Coordinator within our Operations / Administration department is to co-ordinate the loading of all pulp, lumber and other bookings in order to meet documentation and cargo cutoffs in a manner that optimizes customer service and Active Warehousing costs.
In addition, the position provides ongoing support to the CSR desk and the Warehouse Supervisors.
Responsibilities:
- Plan weekly loading schedules for all customer orders in concert with the Warehouse Supervisors
- Liaises with trucking companies to organize and co-ordinate trucking with upcoming daily loading schedules and reservation times, assists the Warehouse Supervisor and CSR Teams to achieve maximum loading efficiencies with the daily labour plan.
- Liaises with the customers รขs Export Planners to confirm loading schedules for their orders and assists the Warehouse Supervisors and CSR Teams to ensure timely communications with each customer of changes or challenges encountered during the loading, documentation and transportation process.
- Liaises with the Customer Service departments (pulp and lumber) to ensure all Customer requirements are met in a timely fashion
- Liaises with Container Yard regarding equipment releases, equipment availability, space allocation and truck turn times
- Liaises with the Office Administrator to resolve any invoicing discrepancies on drayage or reservation fees issued by trucking companies
- Assists in the development and implementation of contingencies for changes or service failures in the supply chain
- Assists in the implementation of corrective action as required for terminal changes,
- Assists in developing and implementing proposed recommendations and SOP's to increase operational efficiencies
- Ad hoc duties as required

- Strong understanding of the container shipping industry
- Comprehensive understanding of the terminal reservation systems Qualifications:
- A Post-Secondary education in transportation, logistics, international trade or related discipline
- A Minimum 5 years dispatching experience with at least 2 years in container trucking
