Here's how a Manager, Construction Services for our Calgary office contributes to our team:

Responsibilities

  • Ensures adequate staff and equipment forecasting to accommodate different scopes and requirements for pursuits, projects and district initiatives in the areas related to construction technology and operational support.
  • Provides input to the estimating process regarding services and scopes related to construction technology to support the successful delivery of our construction projects.
  • Oversees the timely delivery of services during project start up and execution, including the setup of project software, technology solutions, scheduling and quality programs, temporary works engineering, etc.
  • Provides senior guidance to the implementation of processes and procedures, such as the district quality and scheduling programs.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve process, reduce cost or add value through technology solutions and drives their integration throughout the district.
  • Provides guidance and direction for the deployment of training in topics related to Quality, Scheduling, Virtual Design and Construction, Lean, and Temporary Works Engineering.
  • Participates in the development of communication strategies to ensure widespread sharing of success stories and best practices internally and externally.
  • Provides input towards risk management processes and assigns resources as needed to mitigate risk.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors' degree, diploma or 2-year certificate in a buildings-industry related discipline (e.g., architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC), civil, architectural).
  • 10+ years of progressive construction related industry experience. Construction project management experience will be considered an asset.
  • Experience leading teams and process management to meet deadlines.
  • Understanding of construction sequences and processes.
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
  • Working knowledge of construction software and technology solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to negotiate, influence, and present ideas that contribute to projects and departments.
  • Good planning, organizational, and time management skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize team tasks.
  • Ability to coordinate with operations leads for planning and resources at the project level.
  • Stays current with industry practices and seeks new and innovative technologies.
