The Department of Medicine in the Cumming School of Medicine invites applications for a Research Assistant. This Fixed Term Recurring Part-time position is for approximately 10 months (based on length of grant funding), with the possibility of extension.

↩This position reports to the Principal Investigator.↩

Following established procedures, the Research Assistant will assist in the implementation of the project. The Research Assistant will be responsible for contacting participants, conducting telephone and in home interviews, and ensuring collected data is submitted in an accurate manner.

↩This is a Recurring Part-time position. Recurring Part-time employees are hourly employees engaged to perform work on an irregular schedule.

Summary of Key Responsibilities (job functions include but are not limited to):

  • Assist in the collection, delivery, entry, verification, management, analysis, and reporting of data
  • ↩
  • Ensure relevant research methodology is applied
  • ↩
  • Ensure proper handling of all research material is used
  • ↩
  • Ability to demonstrate assigned tasks are done on own initiative in a timely fashion and that results are beneficial to the success of the research project
  • ↩
  • Must maintain the ethical and confidentiality standards
  • ↩
  • Good relationships are established and maintained with all research project members and participants
  • ↩
  • Ensure relevant research methodology is applied and proper handling of all research material is used

↩Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Post Secondary education required
  • ↩
  • Experience and knowledge working in a post secondary institution is an asset
  • ↩
  • Knowledge of health and scientific terminology is a strong asset
  • ↩
  • Knowledge in Excel and Microsoft Word is a strong asset
  • ↩
  • Health services research experience a strong asset
  • ↩
  • Excellent time management, interpersonal and communication skills, accuracy and attention to detail
  • ↩
  • Ability to work as a member of a team, staff, and research team members
