Job Description:
We currently have an opening for a Civil Engineering Technologist to join the Technical Services team in our Edmonton office.
The successful candidate will work with engineers and other technologists to provide design and drafting services in accordance with company and client standards. The work will be performed for a variety of public and private sector clients with a focus on infrastructure projects, including roads, drainage, storm water management, water mains, sewers and related civil surface works.

The position will also provide you with autonomy as you will be required to complete tasks with minimal supervision.
Job Requirements:
- A diploma in Civil Engineering or Engineering Design and Drafting from an accredited technical institution; or currently enrolled in one of the above programs with a graduation date in Spring 2022.
- Registered, or eligible for registration with ASET.
- Experience in AutoCAD, and Civil 3D relative to civil municipal surface or underground projects is preferred, with the following attributes:
- Awareness of the core aspects of Civil3D, surfaces, utility or roadway alignments, profiles, grading and corridors and how they interact with each other in a dynamic workflow
- Able to import surveys and create a surface
- Create alignments and profiles
- Compare surfaces to determine volume
- Ability to complete the work using pre-determined CAD standards and templates.
- Proficiency in MS office software applications such as Word and Excel.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Committed team player and the ability to work independently; Willingness to work as part of a project team under mentorship from a Senior CAD Technologist, and/or Professional Engineer.
- May include opportunities for construction site monitoring, or assisting a survey crew.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to travel within Alberta.
