The opportunity
Our Pipe Integrity Engineering team is evolving to meet the needs of our growing business and we are expanding our presence in Calgary, Alberta to oversee and support the management of the Liquids pipelines assets. The successful candidate will be working closely with Pipe Integrity engineers, data specialists and other key stakeholders across TC Energy regarding Pipe Integrity processes to ensure the effective implementation and continuous improvement of our data quality and processes.
What you'll do
- Will work alongside the Liquids Data Steward and Engineering Teams to troubleshoot and resolve data discrepancies, provide assistance and technical support in the sourcing, compilation, and integration of datasets where required.
- Perform extensive data validation/quality assurance analysis within large datasets and upload data into corporate data repositories.
- Ensure the data quality, accuracy and usability are meeting all data standards and business needs, assist in developing and implementing remediation plans to correct data when required
- Provide ad-hoc data analysis support through the creation of reports and data queries as needed
- Work independently and within a team environment
- Develop, maintain and expand custom utilities to support data management and assessment processes
- Evaluate business processes for automation opportunities to improve efficiencies
Minimum Qualification
- Post-secondary/university degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering or other technical related program
- Minimum of 4 years working experience in technical data analysis, evaluation and data maintenance activities
- Excellent verbal and written business communication skills
- Passionate about data and analyzing business needs
- Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with standard industry data models (e.g. PODS)
- Technical writing experience in relevant areas, including queries, reports, and process mapping
- Strong SQL and Excel skills; with python and VBA experience as an asset
- Prior experience working with data models and reporting packages
