Position Overview
The Werklund School of Education invites applications for an Administrative Assistant. This Causal Hourly position is for approximately two years.
The position reports directly to the Project holder. The incumbent interacts with faculty members, staff, students and external contacts.
This position works approximately 2-6 hours per month.
Position Description
Summary of Key Responsibilities (job functions include but are not limited to):
- Demonstrates a strong ability to support the administration in completing tasks and duties in a timely and efficient manner.
- Proactively anticipates what is required and actively ensures that the required tasks are completed. Is able to multi-task in an efficient manner to ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner.
- Demonstrates highly developed interpersonal skills; able to deal with a range of situations which include sensitive and/or confidential issues.
- Shares information with others as appropriate; is open and receptive to questions, concerns, ideas and needs expressed by others.
- Works effectively within the framework of the University of Calgary's policies and procedures.
- Working with the Researcher and research assistants, be responsible for the efficient and accurate processing of all expense claims (employee and non-employee
Qualifications / Requirements:
- Completion of Grade 12 education and experience administration preferably in an academic environment.
- Experience working with financial information and expense claim issues is considered an asset.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with the MS Office suite of programs is required. Experience with PeopleSoft is a strong asset.
- Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team; flexibility, and initiative are all positively demonstrated in the daily work.
- Superior organizational and time management skills are desired for this position.
- A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail is required.
- A high level of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality.
