As a Field Appraiser you will be responsible for the inspection and estimation of automobile damage repair costs, market value calculations and monetary settlements. You will apply quality control to physical damage cost containment.

What you're responsible for:

  • Inspecting physical damage and considering quality, safety and cost in preparing automobile repair estimates.
  • Determining total loss vehicles by considering actual cash value and potential salvage returns against repair costs.
  • Working with clients, vendors and claims representatives to ensure efficiency, timeliness and quality of the repair process, including recommending quality repair facilities and monitoring the repair process through to completion.
  • Negotiation and settlement of towing and storage expenses with vendors and service providers.

What to expect:

  • You will travel regularly.
  • You are required have your own vehicle, valid driver's license and insurance.
  • This role involves direct contact with clients and/or service providers in their environment.
  • Potential exposure to conditions that require health and safety protection, such as chemicals, noise, dust and debris.
  • Extended work hours, including weekends, will be required during peak periods and major events.
  • You will be subject to a Criminal Record and Consumer History background check as a condition of employment, in the event you are the successful candidate.

To join our team:

  • You have two years auto body repair or related business experience.
  • You have completed a college certificate in auto body repair, ICAR Gold, or a related course(s).
  • You will attain provincial appraiser license(s) depending on the province of work.
