Civil Engineering Technologist, Edmonton, Alberta
This role will prepare civil engineering design drawings related to our projects in land development and public works areas. Specifically, you will be knowledgeable in the preparation of engineering plans and profile drawings relating to storm drainage, sanitary sewage collection and water distribution systems.
Responsibilities:
- Perform planning, design, construction and estimation of cost for civil-related projects.
- Prepare and review contract drawings and documents.
- Manage construction contracts and monitor the progress of various projects.
- Conduct technical reviews and provide recommendations regarding designs and reports prepared by technical staff.
- Coordinate civil designs and documents with other in-house design disciplines.
- Interact with clients and approving authorities.
- Participate in the development of quality products and service standards and liaise with other office locations.
Minimum Education
Diploma in civil engineering technology
Years of Experience
2-4 local experience
Skills/ Competencies
- Experience with cost estimating, civil construction management and construction contract administration
- Experience in dealing with clients and approving authorities
- Experience with stormwater and water system modelling is a plus
- Advanced knowledge of civil design software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Self-starter and team player.
- A valid driver's license
