Job Description:
The Harvest and Production Technician will work with a team of cannabis experts to monitor and report on plant health, diligently maintain and actively care for cannabis plants throughout production, execute harvest and prepare cannabis plants for drying through pruning, and trimming. Additionally, they are to assist the botany and plant biology specialists and entire cultivation team with various production processes and their respective sanitation tasks.
Harvest and Production Technician responsibilities:
- Report to department team leads to execute production, trimming, pruning, crop maintenance, and all associated harvest tasks.
- Maintain sanitation practices and procedures throughout production processes
- Monitor and report crop health and compile respective documentation.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures and follow all regulations and legislation related to cannabis product processing.
- Maintain a working knowledge of all equipment including the sanitation, calibration, and maintenance of production and harvesting equipment.
- Accurately and consistently complete records and documentation for all production activities.
Tasks and projects a successful candidate will execute:
- Trimming, pruning, manicuring, monitoring, and plant maintenance during prescribed growing periods.
- Working closely alongside the cultivation team to communicate and coordinate activities around plant health and status.
- Preparing equipment and workspaces for harvesting Cannabis plants.
- Harvesting Cannabis and subsequent production of Cannabis products.
- Conduct daily sanitation for all processing and production spaces, tools, and equipment, and maintain GMPP standards.
- Collaborate with team leads and Quality Assurance Persons to maintain up-to-date records, preventative control plans, and quality assurance and quality control assessments.
An exceptional candidate will stand out by being:
- Experience working with plants and/or in greenhouses
- Any bachelor's degree level of education is preferred, but not mandatory.
- Any secondary schooling in plant sciences, biology, or chemistry is an asset.
- Highly motivated, working well independently and with a team.

Requirements:
- Lives in the Edmonton area or able to commute, with reliable transportation.
- Performing physical activities for the duration of the shift (standing, walking, moving equipment, stairs) including repetitive movements (trimming, pruning, harvesting, lifting, and moving mature cannabis plants).
- Lift and move up to 50 lbs. (22kg)
- Comfortable standing for long periods, squatting, bending, and kneeling while using tools and performing cleaning and maintenance tasks.
- Must be able to wear personal protective equipment as needed, including but not limited to sanitary clothing covers, gloves, mask, respirator, and/or eye protection while working.
- Must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 before entering the facility (at least 2 doses).
Part-time and full-time hours are available.
The shift schedule is flexible; we operate 7 days/week, on evenings, and weekends. We work with our team to ensure that the needs of the plants and people are met every day!
