Civeo is actively seeking a passionate person who is a great communicator, time manager and problem solver for the position of Public Health Inspector. You will be reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager and providing assistance to various clients mainly within our northern Alberta lodges. Significant travel while working away from home is required. You will be responsible for collaborating with corporate office personnel, lodge management, employees, administrative staff, disability management, and safety personnel in order to ensure high standards of public health and to promote continuous awareness of public health issues. This is a six-month term position with a possibility of becoming a permanent position.

Summary: The Public Health Inspector is responsible for supporting, auditing, and ensuring that all Civeo facilities remain in compliance with appropriate public health legislation, and to develop and deliver public health related programs to various stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensuring compliance with appropriate public health legislation.
- Training lodge managers, chefs and supporting staff on Civeo food safety and quality policies and standard.
- Verification of conformance with quality, CCPs, PCPs, HACCP and GMP standard
- Conducting regular inspections of various workplaces, including lodge accommodations with kitchens facilities, and outdoor areas.
- Investigating concerns with planned follow-up visits to ensure compliance.
- Planning, preparation and maintenance of regular inspection reports.
- Collaborating and liaising with Lodge Management and the Corporate Management team.
- Identifying, analyzing, resolving, and communicating with appropriate stakeholders regarding any public health related matters.
- Delivering audit report to all levels of Management and Employees.
- Other duties as assigned by the QA Manager
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary degree in a related discipline.
- Previous experience with AHS food inspection background is a strong asset.
- Food Safety certification.
- Minimum of 2-years of food processing facility quality assurance or kitchen/restaurant management experiences.
- Knowledge of food storage, rotation, quality and appearance in restaurant and cafeteria settings.
- Knowledge of food preparation services, dishwasher machine operation and daily maintenance.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and staff.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Attention to detail with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Flexibility to travel and work away from home for up to 70% of the time.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving abstract.
