Job Description:
Cargill's North America protein business produces fresh, frozen and cooked beef, turkey, pork, chicken and egg protein offerings, sauces, soups, case ready products, pet treats and by-products for our retail, foodservice and food ingredient customers.

The instrumentation and control Tech should be able to trouble shoot any type of Industrial instrumentation without limiting the regality of the foregoing includes the following: temperature, pressure, flow, analytical and level indicator, recorders, electrical controllers and sensors, density indicator and sensors.
Able to interpret, safely interact, repair and maintain:weight indicators and sensors, Scales indicators, pH indicators and sensors, oxidation reduction potential indicator and sensors, oxygen analysis equipment systems, gas analyzers, sending and indicating systems, electrical conductivity, indicator for measurement proximity, pneumatic, fluidic, robotic, fibre-optic, hydraulic and electronic transmitters, electronic transducers, electronic recorders, digital to analog and analog to digital converts, data acquisition systems, supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA systems), programmable logic controller systems and distributed control and display systems, monitoring devices and alarm systems, hydraulic and electronic control devices and systems, valve positioners.

Principal Accountabilities
  • Responsible for delivering required equipment maintenance (both preventive maintenance program elements and unexpected maintenance requirements) for all Service Center equipment
  • Troubleshooting and maintaining all PLC programs in the plant
  • Ensures the proper installation, repair and maintenance of all Plant production equipment
  • Electrical troubleshooting of all HVAC equipment
  • Understanding and adhering to all safety rules and regulations
  • Maintaining a safe and clean work environment
  • Other duties as assigned
Required:
  • Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada
  • Cargill requires that employees be a minimum of 18 years old
  • Power Engineering Class 5, 4th or Higher
  • Must be able to perform physical job duties including bending/stooping, climbing ladders, open/close valves, pounding with hammer and work in confined spaces
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
  • Ability to work in elevated areas
  • Must be able to operate machinery
  • Must be able to read/write English
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • SAP or CMMS experience
  • Microsoft office software, with an emphasis on Excel and Word experience
  • Ability to work overtime including holidays, nights, weekends or different shifts
  • At least 2 years of experience in production related work
  • Must be able to work under special work conditions, such as extreme heat or cold
  • Must be able to perform maintenance trades including electrical, mechanical maintenance and hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • At least 2 years of experience with MRO
Preferred:
  • Protein Plant Experience
  • Electrical Ticket
  • Able to perform physical job duties including Shoveling
  • Able to perform maintenance trades including, gearbox and bearing, lubrication, and pumps
  • Able to operate heavy equipment
  • Forklift Certified
