We are currently seeking a Security Guard to join our security team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of report writing, ability to work alone and with team, the ability to take initiative, and a commitment to safety and security. A successful candidate will have relevant experience, a high school diploma or GED, and an interest in working for a growing company.
Responsibilities:
- Provide general security protection of client property and assets.
- Monitor employees' activities at the facility and report any suspicious activity to supervisors.
- Eliminate hazards and other dangerous conditions at the facility to protect employees, visitors, and the general public.
- Help ensure that government regulations are followed.
- Protect property by enforcing rules and regulations.
- Enforce rules by detaining individuals until law enforcement officers arrive to investigate.
- Review video recordings for evidence of theft or other suspicious activities.
- Required Qualifications
- · Valid Alberta Security License (applicants from outside of Alberta must obtain)
- · Valid FULL Class 5 Drivers License and acceptable Drivers Abstract
- · Must be able to pass Drug and Alcohol Test (RTU Security will arrange)
- provide criminal record check
- · Valid CPR & AED certification (must have or obtain within 3 months)
- · Proof of double COVID vaccination required
- · CSTS (can be obtained for free online)
- · WHMIS (can be obtained for free online)
- · Exceptional written and spoken English communication skills· Willingness to work both day and night shifts, indoors or outdoors as required
- Additional Information
- Full Uniform provided including PPE. Incumbent need only provide personal steel toed boots, approved footwear.
- 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off rotation

Salary: $18.00-$21.00 per hour
