Position Overview:
The primary role of the feedlot worker is to provide general labour throughout the feedlot. This job does not require any farm or feedlot experience. The right candidate will have a hard work ethic, willingness to learn, and ability to follow instructions.
This includes but is not limited to:
Primary Responsibilities:
- Processing cattle; proper use of cattle handling system, administering tags, vaccines and implants, and other related duties.
- Helping to maintain general cleanliness of yard and facilities including cleaning water bowls, fixing fences, shovelling, washing equipment, etc.
- Assisting in bedding during winter months
- Driving equipment such as a skid steer, front end loader, tractor and shop sweep.
- Helping to move feed or fill micro machines.
- Other duties as assigned by Operations Manager or Feedlot Manager(s)
Education, Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum Class 5 license
- High School diploma is preferred
- Experience working in the agriculture industry is an asset
- Experience working on a feedlot is an asset
