About the role
We're looking for a Manager, Claims Projects to join our growing team!
As a Manager, Claims Projects you are playing a leadership role in building the next innovations around the system experience for our Claims and Legal Claims staff so that they can deliver an outstanding customer experience. You participate in strategic discussions and healthy debates with various levels of cross-functional experts with the aim of identifying and creating innovative solutions in partnership with our centers of excellence and senior management. You move quickly with the changing environment and are up to date with the latest trends.

What you'll do here:
- The main responsibilities are to work closely with the project team members, sponsors and stakeholders, playing a leadership role in ensuring that projects are managed effectively throughout the project lifecycle under the Agile methodology. Leading, planning and delivering all aspects of small to large size projects (Business or IT) within scope, time, budget and quality commitments. The Manager of projects will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with business partners and working with them on business benefits realization.
- Lead and manage project teams to effectively utilize strengths of team members.
- Train/mentor/coach/guide individuals and teams and act as an enabler and give them the support they need to excel
- Effectively identify and develop talent, demonstrate strong performance management within your team.
- Enhance and improve employee engagement levels
- Manage Agile projects by understanding the business strategies, priorities, and issues.
- Leverage capabilities to propose appropriate solutions and deliver business value.
- Define the overall project scope and objectives with business sponsors.
- Provide project leadership and vision; formalize processes, procedures and quality control measures; develop and manage project resource plan and project dependencies.
- Manage sponsor and stakeholder expectations.
- Apply influence and negotiation to gain support and achieve consensus.
- Create and manage project schedules, budgets to ensure project completion is on time, on budget and within scope.
- Identify and assess risks, implement risk mitigation strategies including severity and impact assessments.
- Provide overall project reporting – scorecards, progress reports, metrics, issues, costs, etc.
- Monitor implementation efforts and transition issues to ensure that business risks are identified and solutions are recommended.
- Support organizational change management efforts, related to assigned projects or otherwise
Qualifications
What you bring to the table:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Management or related management work experience
- Minimum 8 years experience in project management and team management
- Project Management Professional certification (PMP) is an asset
- Chartered Insurance Professional certification (CIP) or strong knowledge of P&C insurance is an asset
- Knowledge of the Agile methodology
- Knowledge of MS Project, Visio, Office Suite, Sharepoint
