About the role
We are looking for an Underwriting Assistant to join our growing team!
As an Underwriting Assistant in our Personal Lines department, your work will have a big impact within our underwriting distribution department. People will count on you to deliver Intact's legendary service by analyzing, selecting and processing risks in personal insurance to contribute to a profitable portfolio of business.
This is a 6-month contract opportunity that can be located at either our Calgary or Edmonton office.
What you'll do here:
- Process Policy transactions on system including New Business, Renewals, Endorsements, and Cancellations
- Answer Broker queries through phones, emails, and memos
- Review account information, communicate changes with accounts, review and confirm policy information and coverages with Brokers
- Answer phone queue straightforward inquiries from brokers promptly and courteously
Qualifications
What you bring to the table:
- Minimum of one (1) year office related experience
- Post Secondary education is an asset
- Computer proficient with the ability to navigate through multiple systems
- Legendary customer service and relationship building skills
- Adaptable and flexible with the ability to prioritise work
- Proficient data entry skills and strong attention to detail
- Exemplary written and verbal communication
- Working towards the Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation is an asset
