Key responsibilities:
Clinical Research
· Collect an process specimens (blood, urine, etc.) according to study protocol and laboratory manuals and procedures
· Unpacks samples, data enters requisition/completes as required, labels, maintains specimens and routes samples to appropriate laboratory as indicated by C-endo Laboratory Standard Operating Procedures and/or specific clinical study protocol
· May assist in other clinical research related duties such as database queries and review, patient chart screening, patient monitoring and problem solving.
Laboratory Oversight
· Process other standard in-house laboratory tests (urine samples, pregnancy tests, A1C, etc.)
· Monitors and manages laboratory supplies and inventory, equipment and calibration, including daily temperature tracking and reporting
· Contributes to the ongoing improved operations of the laboratory by keeping current with technological developments to enhance efficiency and reliability
· Follows appropriate chemical and universal blood and bodily fluid precaution hygiene; maintains sanitary and safe work space
· Achieve and maintain IATA certification
· Participates in development and maintenance of quality control and assurance program
Administration
· Evaluates, prioritizes and organizes daily workload in conjunction with team members
· May assist with other patient specific clinical duties such as obtaining weight, height, vitals, medical history
· Recording, analyzing and interpreting of results utilizing graphs, charts and narratives to team members and senior colleagues
· Participate in team meetings to increase efficiency and productivity within the team
· Professional and ethical responsibility to protect privacy, use confidential information appropriately and maintain the confidentiality and security of all information related to patients, staff and business of Nanji Professional Corporations Clinics
Education Required:
· Completion of the Medical Laboratory Assistant Program that is accredited by the Canadian Medical Association and has obtained Medical Laboratory Assistant Certificate
Experience
· Excellent organizational skills
· Experience in laboratory/medical environment
· Proficiency in computer programs specifically EMRs and Microsoft Office
· Flexibility and an ability to react quickly in a fluid and fast-paced environment, as well as a demonstrated ability to prioritize workflow
· Strong communicator
