- Five years of experience in heavy oil, water treatment or steam generation
- Your 2nd or 3rd Class Power Engineering Certificate (ABSA certified)
- A High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
- A valid driver's license and a clean driving record
- Perform plant operation duties for smooth and efficient operations and ensure shift changes are well communicated
- Ensure timely action and process adjustments during plant upsets that are consistent with operational objectives and target outputs
- Perform routine operating tasks such as monitoring levels, pressures, and temperatures
- Perform basic troubleshooting and initiate repairs or requests for repairs when required
- Prepare equipment and systems for maintenance
- You will work out of our Firebag location, which is our largest in situ operation and one of the largest in the world (and located 120 km northeast of Fort McMurray, Alberta)
- This is a Fly-in/Fly-out (FIFO) camp-based position; you will FIFO from a Suncor hub location: Calgary/Edmonton, Alberta or Saskatoon, Saskatchewan
- The shift schedule is a 7 days on / 7 days off rotation (7 days on, 7 days off, 7 nights on, 7 nights off; 12-hour shifts)
- This position is safety sensitive
- You will be required to perform some heavy lifting, use ladders and work on elevated work sites such as scaffolds and towers, with the ability to perform in a variety of different environments both indoor and outdoor as well as within confined spaces
