Scope:
The Electrical Design Group works closely with the Electrical Task Force Engineers to support the detailed design of the electrical power systems required for various types of complex industrial plant facilities. This includes preparation of the designs necessary to specify, locate, install and interconnect a wide variety of electrical equipment and components.
All design and engineering work is performed in compliance with Fluor standards & practices and applicable Codes. Practical experience is gained through short-term field assignments during which time the designer assists in systems checkout and testing. Electrical Designers on a project work directly for the Design Supervisor who is in turn under the direction of the Project Electrical Lead Engineer.
Electrical Designers are involved in:
- Performing 3D modeling using SmartPlant 3D (S3D) and utilize other electrical system design software such as Smart Plant Electrical (SPEL) to support the preparation of the electrical drawing deliverables and associated material take-offs including but not limited to the;

- Graduating with a Diploma from Electrical Engineering Technology or Equivalent in 2021/2022.
- Qualified candidates must possess strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Basic computer and software skills to include the use of word processing, e-mail, spreadsheet and electronic presentation programs.
- Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
- Required to have good working knowledge of 2D CAD drafting and are required to work in a computer-based 3D Design environment. Previous experience using CAD, AutoCAD, Microstation 2D and Intergraph 3D is a definite asset, but in-house training is available.
